marble We do not use marble countertops in the kitchen because they lack the durability of granite and have too much maintenance. Marble looks great and is impossible to replicate but its negatives outweigh its advantages as a kitchen countertop. Marble is a soft stone and though it is heat resistant it is prone to scratches and staining as it is very porous. Marble would require semi-annual sealing coats and possibly need to be buffed ever few years to remove scratches. It is slightly less cost wise to granite but not worth the money in a kitchen setup. |
